Wines for Freedom

Ninety percent of the soldiers in the unit we support were civilians like us just five years ago. Former IT professionals, entrepreneurs, lawyers, and sommeliers are now fighting for the freedom of Ukraine and Europe.

Veiniekspress began introducing Ukrainian wines in the spring of 2022. During that time, we have met many inspiring and selfless people. The aim of this project is to support those Ukrainians we know who have put their lives on hold and are fighting for freedom.

Who are we supporting?

The unit of sommeliers and others is currently fighting for the freedom of Ukraine and all of Europe as part of the 77th Air Defense Brigade, a unit that ranks among the top 15 in the Ukrainian Army.

Unfortunately, the unit’s vehicle was damaged in combat, and they now need a four-wheel-drive vehicle to help them move around and deliver drones, medical aid, and supplies to the front line.

Why are we supporting them specifically?

Veiniekspress’s collaboration with the winemakers in this unit began in the spring of 2022, when the Veiniekspress team traveled to Ukraine and started bringing their wines to Estonia and other parts of Europe. The collaboration has continued ever since.

Every euro goes directly to the unit

Our goal is to buy them a well-maintained four-wheel-drive vehicle (for example, a Mitsubishi L200, Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, or a similar durable pickup truck or SUV) that can handle rough terrain.

Legal entities should write “Maastur” in the payment description.
The law allows tax-free donations to Ukraine through the National Defence Promotion Foundation until the end of 2027.This means that when donating to the foundation, there is no need to consider donation limits or declare donations to the tax authority. More about the tax benefit.
Private individuals should write ‘Maastur’ in the payment description. For all named donations, the Tax and Customs Board will refund income tax if the donor has indicated that they wish to receive it. For this reason, we ask donors to always include their personal identification code in the payment description as well.

The campaign is being carried out with the support of the National Defence Promotion Foundation, ensuring the targeted use of donations, the purchase of the equipment, and its delivery to the unit.
