Sommeliers on the Front Line!

90% of the fighters in the unit we support were civilians like us just five years ago. Today, former IT professionals, entrepreneurs, lawyers, and sommeliers are fighting for the freedom of Ukraine and Europe.

Veiniekspress began introducing Ukrainian wines in the spring of 2022. Since then, we have met many inspiring and selfless people. The aim of this project is to support those Ukrainians we know who have put their lives on hold and are now fighting for freedom.

Who are we supporting?

90% of the unit’s members are ordinary people: sommeliers, IT specialists, entrepreneurs, and lawyers. Today, they are fighting for the freedom of Ukraine and all of Europe as part of the 77th Air Defense Brigade — a unit ranked among the top 15 in the Ukrainian army.

Unfortunately, the unit’s vehicle was damaged in combat, and they now need a 4×4 vehicle to help them move around and deliver drones, medical aid, and supplies to the front line.

Why are we supporting them specifically?

Veiniekspress began working with the winemakers from this unit in the spring of 2022, when the Veiniekspress team traveled to Ukraine and started bringing their wines to Estonia and elsewhere in Europe. The partnership has continued ever since.

Every euro goes directly to the unit

Our goal is to buy them a well-maintained 4×4 vehicle (for example, a Mitsubishi L200, Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, or a similar durable pickup/SUV) that can handle rough terrain.

Every donation counts, no matter the amount — €10, €50, €100, or €1,000.

Legal entities should write “Maastur” in the payment description.
Under Estonian law, tax-free donations to Ukraine can be made through the National Defence Promotion Foundation until the end of 2027. This means that when donating to the foundation, there is no need to consider donation limits or declare donations to the tax authority. More about the tax benefit.
Private individuals should write “Support for Ukraine” in the payment description, and the Tax and Customs Board will refund income tax on all named donations if the donor has expressed that wish. For this, we ask donors to always include their personal identification code in the payment description as well.

The campaign is being carried out with the support of the National Defence Promotion Foundation, ensuring the targeted use of donations, the purchase of the equipment, and its delivery to the unit.
